make a collage with me

hey guys! i thought it might be fun to make a collage with me post. i make collages all the time, and i’m hoping this helps you if you want to start making some. the majority of this post is photos, so if you are reading this in an email or the reader, you can open it up to see the photos.

i use canva to make my collages.

if you go to, you can find several different sizes and shapes of templates.

today we will be using the poster option, but you can use any size you want.

your screen should now look something like this.

then, i searched up peach aesthetic in pinterest.

i copied and pasted a bunch of pictures into canva, and started spacing them out.
i now have all of my photos arranged in a collage, but they are really different, and they don’t really look like a put together collage.

now, i’m going to add a filter called whimsical to the photos. (in case you were wondering, i changed a few of the photos)

the filter now helps all of the photos look cohesive!

then, i thought the collage looked a little plain, so i added a quote called tan meringue.

alright, that’s all for today, i hope you enjoyed it! i’ll see you next time!

march recap

hey y’all! it’s been a while, that’s for sure. i’m glad to be back. this is my first monthly recap, and i’m pretty excited about it. i’m going to try to take things from other bloggers’ recaps, but put my own spin on it. i hope you enjoy it!

b o o k s

books i read.

this month, i finished one book, the war i finally won, by kimberly brubaker bradley. so, i’m going to do a fun mini book review on it. (there are no spoilers in the rating below)

r a t i n g – 8 / 10

i thought it was a pretty good book, but it was kind of sad, and not very funny. there were several points in the book where there was just a sad period where nothing was really happening.

the characters in this book were the best part. i could sympathize with ada, the main character, and i think there was a lot of good character development.

the plot was lacking in this book. there were some points where there was so much happening, and some points when there was nothing going on. it wasn’t a ‘i can’t put this down’ kinda book.

books i want to read.

this month, i want to read 1 book, but start another book. there are a few books that i have my eye on, so make sure to give your feedback in the comments if you’ve read them. i would love some good book recommendations. 😉

siege and storm – leigh bardugo

this book is a sequel to the first book, shadow and bone. while i didn’t love the first book, i’d love to give the series another try with siege and storm.

the shape of thunder – jasmine warga

i read another book by jasmine warga, called other words for home, and i liked it. i have high hopes for this book, and i hope it reaches them.

m u s i c

t o p s o n g s a n d a r t i s t s

taylor swift – well of course she’s on here. i have a playlist dedicated to her. my recent favorite songs are the lakes – original version, the 1, and nothing new.

billie eilish – recently i’ve been loving happier than ever. my favorite songs are happier than ever (the song lol), and halley’s comet.

lana del rey – i just found out that lana del rey sings so many of the songs i’ve heard on the radio, and always wondered who sang them lol. my favorite songs by her are brooklyn baby, summertime sadness, and pretty when you cry.

this is my recent favorite playlist that i made, it’s been on repeat all month.

g o a l s

this is my first time ever making monthly goals, but i think it will be nice to look back and see what i did.

✰journal every other day – i love journaling, but lately i haven’t been doing it very often.

✰learn a song on piano – i used to take piano lessons, but i don’t anymore. i love learning new songs, so this will be fun.

✰focus more in class – during school, i always find myself zoning out and not paying attention in class, and i’m always so confused afterward.

✰practice left hand passes – i play lacrosse, and it’s important to be able to play with both hands, so i want to become better at left hand passing and cradeling.

✰keep my room clean – lately, my room has been either very messy or very clean. i like it clean, and it looks so nice when it’s clean, too.

✰do my morning routine more – yes, i have a morning routine. i love doing it, it’s very calming for some reason, but i don’t do it often, and i would like to change that.

how i stay motivated in the mornings

Mornings. When you wake up your bed is so warm and soft and you don’t really want to get out of it. Today I’ll be sharing 10 tips I use to get out of bed and get my day started.

  1. alarms
It’s funny how many people want to wake up earlier, but then never actually set an alarm. If you don’t set alarm you’re not going to wake up if you want to wake up earlier. A tip I like to use is to put my alarm on the other side of the room, so when I wake up I’ll have to get up to turn it off, and by then I’m already awake.
  2. washing your face
After I get up, I go straight into my bathroom and wash my face with cold water. The cold water helps me wake up and it feels really good.
  3. hydrate!
You have to remember to hydrate right after I wash my face I’ll drink some water. Your body is dehydrated you haven’t drinking any water since probably the time you went to bed.
  4. making your bed
Making your bed is a crucial step to staying motivated in the mornings, because if you don’t make your bed, you can easily crawl back into it. Meanwhile, if you make your bed you can’t get back into it.
  5. journaling
Drilling in the morning is really important to me. Whether this is journaling about your emotions, making a to-do list or even making notes about school, writing something on paper really helps need focus in the morning.
  6. staying off screens
It’s really important to not have screens in part of your morning because it will negatively impact the rest of your day.
  7. make your morning enjoyable
Turning on some music for a podcast in the morning makes my morning routines so much more enjoyable, because I have something going in the background and overall it just really helps. I don’t have any podcast suggestions because I don’t listen to those as much as I do music, but tell me in the comments you have any podcasts that you’d recommend.
  8. get dressed
Getting dressed. This is so simple, it makes you feel so good when you put on a cute outfit, because you’re thinking I have a cute outfit on right now and I think I look great and I want people to see me in this outfit.
  9. accessories
Once you get dressed in your amazing outfit, you should put on some accessories whether that’s using a headband or a claw clip in your hair, putting on some earrings, for a cute necklace, you want to get back in bed with all that on.
  10. breakfast
Breakfast is the most enjoyable part of my morning, because I make a delicious breakfast, whether that’s avocado toast, or scrambled eggs, or oatmeal with berries, an important part of your morning is to eat a good, filling breakfast.

Thank you so much for reading!

my 2022 vision board + why you should make yours

Hey y’all! I hope you’ve had a great week! I’ve been trying to keep up with posting, and I think I’ve done a pretty good job. Today I’ll be showing you my 2022 vision board, how I made it, and why you should make one too.

This is my 2022 vision board (the little spots are covering up a personal photo)

  1. I first chose a color scheme to make my vision board cohesive. I chose a light beige, green, and white.

These are some colors close to my vision board.

2. Figure out what you want to be in 2022

This is basically making goals.

  • I added pictures of journaling because I want to do more of that in 2022.
  • I added pictures of Paris because I’ve been there once and it’s my favorite place I’ve ever been to.
  • I added some smoothie / acai bowls, and oatmeal bowls because I think they taste super good.
  • I added pictures of flexibility / working out because those are things I want to focus on in 2022.
  • Then I filled the rest of the collage with inspo quotes, these really cute nails, and some cute outfits.

3. Find photos that have your goals and color scheme

This step is pretty explanatory lol.

4. Open up Canva or a Google Slide

If you don’t want use Canva, you can also use a Google Slide. I’d recommend using Canva because there are filters, but I’ll get back into that later.

5. Use a filter

I’d like to thank Diary Of A Daydreamer for mentioning that Canva has filters, because I wouldn’t have known if she hadn’t said that lol. I linked her post where she described her vision board. I used the filter called Fresco.

This makes everything match, just like she said.

why should i make one?

  • You can have a visual reminder of your goals whenever you open your computer
  • They’re super fun to make
  • You can get inspo from other people’s vision boards

And a soo many more!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I’ll see you next week!

Hey y’all! I went to Utah! It was absolutely amazing and the snow was wonderful! So, I thought, why not make a photo dump. This is probably going to be a super short post just with pictures, but, why not?

I hope you enjoy!

Christmas Tree outside our hotel

I know todays post was super short, but I just wanted to share a little photo dump and I hope you enjoyed! See you next week!

4 steps on how to achieve your new year’s resolutions + goodbye willowy thoughts

Hey y’all! Welcome back to beautiful days. I hope you’re having a great week! My posts are now going to go out on Fridays! So, look out for new posts every Friday at 8 am Eastern Time.

1. write your goals down

This is a super important step to achieving your goals. If you write them down you can remember them. I like to take a notebook and write everything that I need on a daily basis in it, like morning + evening routines, workouts, to do lists, etc. Another thing I would suggest while writing your goals down is to make your page of goals aesthetic. This way, you will be happy and pleased whenever you look at your resolutions.

If you don’t have a journal, or prefer the digital route, I’d recommend using Canva, so you can still make you list colorful. Canva has thousands of amazing templates, or you can even make your own with graphics!

A thing I like to do while writing them down is to write my how, but I’ll get more in depth during the next step.

2. remember your how

What is a how? It’s a lot of things lol. But in this case, it’s three things / strategies / methods to make your resolutions come true. For example, if your resolution was to run 3 x a week, your how’s could be start at half a mile and go farther every month, ask a friend to run with you, and reward yourself with some chocolate or Netflix every week you hit your goal.

With the how system, you’re not only motivated to reach your goal, but you have extra solutions to get to it.

3. make a vision board

Vision boards are so fun to make! Hannah @ Diary of a Daydreamer has a really great post explaining how to make one.

Put all of your resolutions, (in picture form) onto a collage and put it as your Laptop wallpaper. If you don’t use a computer put it as your iPad or iPhone wallpaper. And, if you’re feeling extra crafty, you can print all the pictures out, glue them together, and put them somewhere you look a lot. Plus it’s bonus room decor, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I think having a visual reminder of your goals + resolutions is really important, because your vision board, in a way I like to think about it, is really your dream or ideal self. Somebody who we really want to be.

4. motivation

This step is a little different than our other steps. Everybody has bad days. Days with drama, days where something really, really bad happens, or just days where you just really want to stay in bed.

On these days, we still need to find the positives and stay motivated. Lots of times, successful people are asked “how did you get everything done,” or “how were you productive all the time?” But I think the real answer that we need is to be motivated on our off days. We need to get out of bed, and do the things we need to be done even when we don’t feel like it. I’m not saying to push yourself and burn ourself out, rest days are important, but resting everyday isn’t important.

Thank y’all so much for reading, I really hope you enjoyed today’s post + I’ll see you next Friday. I have some ideas for posts and I’m hoping to get back into my schedule, but if there’s anything you’d like to see comment down below.

I used to do shoutouts, so if you’re new around here, or you just haven’t gotten one yet, please comment down below your blog address!

So as you probably saw from the title, willowy thoughts is not gonna happen anymore. It’s too much, and it wasn’t that fun either. So yea.

5 things that will keep you organized in the new year

Hey, y’all! It’s been a while. Sorry about that. Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year too! I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve, but I doubt this post will go out tonight.

So, today I’ll be sharing some things + ideas that will keep us all organized this year.

  1. a morning routine

If you don’t have a morning routine, I don’t know what you’re doing. Morning routines, morning rituals, morning plans, whatever you want to call them, are essential to keeping a clear mind, and they also keep you organized. You can have a simple morning routine, or it can be pretty complex. I normally stay on the simpler side, but you should do whatever works best for you. The most important part about morning routines is that they change. You should be flexible with them.

I don’t do my morning routine every morning. I do it most mornings, but sometimes I need that extra sleep. You shouldn’t expect yourself to do your morning routine every morning, because that’s pretty unrealistic, in my opinion. But if it’s not for you, go for it! Right now, my morning routine consists of

  • waking up (obviously)
  • drinking some water
  • brushing my teeth
  • doing my skincare
  • making my bed
  • making a to do list
  • stretching
  • getting dressed, doing my hair, and over all just getting ready
  • making my breakfast and eating

I’m on winter break right now, so after breakfast, I do a workout, then shower, but when I get back in school, I won’t be able to do that.

2. using a planner or bullet journal

This is essential. I’ll probably say that with all of these lol, but this just keeps me so much more organized. Whether you go the digital route or go with a traditional handheld planner doesn’t matter. I got a new planner from my friend for Christmas, and it’s really nice.

If you want to go the digital route, I’d reccomend Notion. I recently started using Notion, and I think the best part is how customizable it is. There’s plenty of amazing templates on the website, but if you look templates up on Google, lots of people make them, and you can probably find some more aesthetic templates.

3. keeping your devices organized

We live in 2021 (2022 now). Devices are a big part of our life. There are many wonderful things about electronics, but they can get cluttered. So keep your device clean. On the first of every month, I clean out my devices, delete photos I don’t need, and organize everything.

4. waking up earlier + going to bed earlier

Sleep is one of the best parts of life. (Does anyone feel the same way, or is it just me???) But I’m a morning person. On the weekdays I’m up by 6:00 am and the weekends by 7:00 am. That’s why I go to bed earlier so I can have the energy to wake up. Sleep is really important for our mental and physical health. So sleep enough y’all. ;)))

5. taking a break when you need one

Resting is very important. Probably more important then being productive. Definetly more important. If you’re productive all the time, you’ll just get burnt out! And that’s never good. Taking rest days and self care days are about the best thing you can do for yourself!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have an amazing day! See y’all soon!

wrapping up

today’s shoutouts go to

nobody, because I don’t know who to shoutout.
