Hey, y’all! It’s been a while. Sorry about that. Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year too! I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve, but I doubt this post will go out tonight.
So, today I’ll be sharing some things + ideas that will keep us all organized this year.
- a morning routine
If you don’t have a morning routine, I don’t know what you’re doing. Morning routines, morning rituals, morning plans, whatever you want to call them, are essential to keeping a clear mind, and they also keep you organized. You can have a simple morning routine, or it can be pretty complex. I normally stay on the simpler side, but you should do whatever works best for you. The most important part about morning routines is that they change. You should be flexible with them.
I don’t do my morning routine every morning. I do it most mornings, but sometimes I need that extra sleep. You shouldn’t expect yourself to do your morning routine every morning, because that’s pretty unrealistic, in my opinion. But if it’s not for you, go for it! Right now, my morning routine consists of
- waking up (obviously)
- drinking some water
- brushing my teeth
- doing my skincare
- making my bed
- making a to do list
- getting dressed, doing my hair, and over all just getting ready
- making my breakfast and eating
I’m on winter break right now, so after breakfast, I do a workout, then shower, but when I get back in school, I won’t be able to do that.
2. using a planner or bullet journal
This is essential. I’ll probably say that with all of these lol, but this just keeps me so much more organized. Whether you go the digital route or go with a traditional handheld planner doesn’t matter. I got a new planner from my friend for Christmas, and it’s really nice.
If you want to go the digital route, I’d reccomend Notion. I recently started using Notion, and I think the best part is how customizable it is. There’s plenty of amazing templates on the website, but if you look templates up on Google, lots of people make them, and you can probably find some more aesthetic templates.
3. keeping your devices organized
We live in 2021 (2022 now). Devices are a big part of our life. There are many wonderful things about electronics, but they can get cluttered. So keep your device clean. On the first of every month, I clean out my devices, delete photos I don’t need, and organize everything.
4. waking up earlier + going to bed earlier
Sleep is one of the best parts of life. (Does anyone feel the same way, or is it just me???) But I’m a morning person. On the weekdays I’m up by 6:00 am and the weekends by 7:00 am. That’s why I go to bed earlier so I can have the energy to wake up. Sleep is really important for our mental and physical health. So sleep enough y’all. ;)))
5. taking a break when you need one
Resting is very important. Probably more important then being productive. Definetly more important. If you’re productive all the time, you’ll just get burnt out! And that’s never good. Taking rest days and self care days are about the best thing you can do for yourself!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have an amazing day! See y’all soon!
